Your Antiaging Cleansing Routine

Your antiaging cleansing routine all boils down to one word: gentle. Here are some ways to pamper your skin and keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay.

Mild-Mannered Products

When it comes to products, less is more. Look for mild products containing fewer ingredients. Gentler products mean less chance of irritation.

No (Rough) Scrubs
Every time you scrub, rub, or pull during your cleansing routine, you could be prematurely aging your face. Playing rough with your skin can loosen the tiny fibers under the surface. Gently rub or pat on products. Bonus points if your product comes in a spray!

Not Too Hot
Keep your water temperature moderate. You’ve heard that hot water opens up pores, but it also dries your skin, leading to redness and irritation. Keep water at room temperature to avoid overdrying your skin.

Pat Dry
If you’re not careful while drying your face, you could be damaging and irritating your skin. Patting your face dry will leave it a bit damp, which will aid in the next step.

Moisturize
Apply moisturizer while your skin is still damp for maximum effectiveness. Use a heavier moisturizer at night to avoid overproduction of oil during the daytime.
