How to Get Better Haircolor
From: India-Jewel Jackson   28 days 4 hours 11 minutes ago

Getting the right haircolor can be a challenge sometimes. Showing your colorist a picture of beautiful hair on a celebrity can help, but there are other factors that come into play when having your hair colored. Stylist Emily West from patrick mcivor color studio in Bethlehem, PA has these tips to share, so that you’ll have a beautiful, sexy believable color next time you leave the salon!

1. Sit at eye level. Look your stylist in the eye and make sure they are giving you their full attention. If they don’t listen to you, how will they know what you want?

2. Convey your personal style. It’s important for your stylist to have a clear picture of your personality – do you want dramatic color that stops people in the street or sun-kissed natural looking highlights?

3. Discuss your face shape, eye color, complexion and natural color/texture. Your natural assets play a large role in the type of color that will look good on you, as well as the level of color that is achievable.

4. Explain what you like and don’t like about your hair. Do you want highlights but also wear your hair in a ponytail and dread pulling it back and covering your color? Do you want to use your hair to accentuate other parts of your body like your eyes or neck? Strategic color placement is crucial in these instances.

5. Communicate how much time and effort you are willing to devote to the care of your color. Highlights a couple levels lighter than your natural hair may be less of an investment in terms of maintenance than a single process that is five levels lighter.
