one struts into a room with BIG hair... For those of you that are boldly willing to take the chance, Nicole Welty, a stylist from studio two in Bethlehem, PA, shares a few tips on how you can pump it up this season!
"The best way to create long-lasting volume is to start at the root of the hair shaft and build a foundation for the look. I apply a volumizing spray foam (like
Redken guts 10 volume spray foam) about ¼ away from the scalp and then I use a light-weight smoother on the ends (like
Redken satinwear 02 ultimate blow-dry lotion) to keep hair shiny and smooth. Next, hold hair up vertically and direct blow-dryer heat to the root area. Make sure to use a nozzle at the end of the dryer to maximize heat direction. You must also over direct the hair in the top sections to help build up the roots for maximum volume. Once the roots are dry, you have created the volume foundation and from there use a medium sized brush to dry and finish the ends."
