In this exclusive clip of tonight episode of MTV’s The Hills, Lauren tells Audrina that Heidi sent her a letter asking to be friends again.

“I don’t really know the right way to handle that,” says Lauren, who went clubbing with Heidi’s sister, Holly, the night before the note arrived.

Offers Audrina, “It must be hard. Holly must really remind you of Heidi.”

Lauren then asks, “Where would we be if Heidi never met Spencer? Isn’t that weird, thinking how one person coming into someone’s life changes everything?”

Since the show taped, a lot of drama has gone down: On Friday, rumors spread that Lauren hooked up with Audrina’s on-and-off beau Justin Bobby (allegations she denies).

Meanwhile, Audrina was photographed lunching with Heidi over the weekend, presumably catching up on the latest round of gossip.

Just call her chef Paris Hilton!

“[Benji Madden and I] watch movies and I cook really big dinners for him,” Hilton says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (the episode airs Tuesday). “I’m an amazing cook!”

So what’s on the menu?

“My whole life, my Mom taught me were Italian,” says Hilton, 27.

The heiress says she’s spending a lot more quiet nights inside these days with her beau of seven months.

“Just my whole lifestyle is different,” she explains. “We dont really go out as much anymore unless its for work. I just feel like an adult.”

“When youre single, it’s different because you want to go out with your girlfriends and have fun,” she says. “But when youre in relationship and you’re in love, there is no point in going out because you just want to be together and do normal things.

“I think for the first time Im in a really great relationship with a guy I really trust and treats me really well and who would never hurt me,” she adds.

Hilton gives mutual pal Nicole Richie credit for hooking her up with Madden.

“Weve been friends for seven years. And then when Nicole had the baby, I went over there, and we hung out and got a crush on each other,” Hilton says. “And then from there we were together.”

As could be expected, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt proved quite an eyeful at Saturday’s New York premiere of her new movie. Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood.

But, in fact, there was even more to meet the eye on the leading lady: two new tattoos to complement her ink indicating global birth coordinates of children Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh.

Jolie has had the July 12 French birthplace of twins Knox and Vivienne enscribed twice on her left shoulder beneath the latitude and longitude of their other children.

Nicole Kidman wasn’t expecting to find love with Keith Urban.

“I didn’t foresee it, that you can meet somebody who you have a deep and more profound love with,” the actress - who divorced Tom Cruise in 2001 - tells November’s Elle.

“I don’t mean to take away anything with Tom, but I would hope that he has the same thing - I know he has the same thing with Katie,” Kidman adds. “You move into a stage where you’re able to be a more fuller person in your relationship.”

She continues, “I want to be really careful with that because I don’t want to take away from 11 years with that man that were really important. Really, for our kids — they were amidst a lot of love. It wasn’t bad. And now we’re amidst a more evolved love.”

Does she have any regrets about marrying Cruise at the young age of 22?

“Um, no. Would I want my kids to get married at that age? No!” Kidman says. “But that was an extraordinary thing for me. [Tom] taught me an enormous amount — as a girl into a woman. Absolutely, I would do it again.”

(Seeing Cruise move on was tough, however: Her pal Lauren Bacall says that Kidman was “unhappy on the set of 2003’s Dogville. “Tom had taken off for Penelope Cruz or some g—–n thing — one of his more ridiculous moves,” Bacall says. Taking a slight jab at the actor, she tells Elle, “Tom Cruise is a maniac. I can’t understand the way he conducts his life.”)

Kidman also opens up to Elle about being a mother at age 41.

“At 41, it’s more of a painful love. I look at that little girl, and I’m like, ‘Oh, no, what’s going to happen?’ It’s almost like my heart is stretching; I’m feeling all the muscles stretch with emotion. It’s a beautiful love, but there’s a lot of fear and pain for her life, and for Bella’s and Connor’s life.

“I like to believe that nothing was stopping Sunday from coming into the world,” she adds.

(Incidentally, she denies reports she named her daughter after early 20th-century artist Sunday Reed. “That’s a myth,” she says. “We just liked the name.”)

“When it comes to my kids, I’m just like a lioness,” Kidman says. “I’m like, ‘No one gets near my babies! That’s why we chose not to sell photos of her. We just want to have our little cocoon.”

Urban is equally protective of Kidman.

“He’s the greatest man besides my dad I’ve ever met,” the actress says. “He’s loyal and he’s a soul searcher.”

She adds, “Keith gave me a life. He gave me a home.”

It’s looking more and more likely that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will appear on ”Saturday Night Live” — to have some fun with Tina Fey.

As the comedian’s impressions of the GOP vice presidential candidate draw laughs from Republicans and Democrats alike, a top honcho from the John McCain campaign tells me there’s a debate going on about how to respond.

Some key McCain staffers are content with Palin joking about the “SNL” routines on the campaign trail — as when she scribbled “I’m not Tina Fey” on a supporter’s cell phone and said she’d dressed as Fey on Halloween. But others — including the governor herself — think a return punch on the NBC airwaves is what’s needed.

I’m hearing some sort of Palin tweak of Fey’s American Express commercials is in the works.

While next weekend’s ”Saturday Night Live” will be a rerun, it is possible Palin could appear Thursday on the first of NBC’s ”Weekend Update” specials in prime time.

Otherwise, the next orginal “SNL” show will be broadcast Oct. 18, a little more than two weeks before the election.
