When did you fall in love with hair?
I always loved the movies and glamor-
ous hairdos. When Vidal Sassoon revolutionized hair-cutting—he was my idol—I knew I wanted to be a hairstylist.


What was your favorite decade as far as hair is concerned?
Each decade has its beauty. I’ve worked on so many different period movies, starting from 500AD, with Little Buddha, to the 16th century through the 20th century.  I love ’30s and ’40s for true glamour.

Which celebrities have you worked with in the past, and do you work with anyone regularly?

Most memorable experience?
Working on Evita with Madonna was a fantastic experience.

When brainstorming with a client about a look for an awards show, what’s the most requested look?
Updos.

Are there any hairstyles you wish would disappear forever?
No. All hairstyles have a meaning, even a mullet.

What’s the one thing women can do to look younger?
As women get older, they should go lighter, never darker.

How can someone look great in an instant?
Hair extensions are brilliant for transforming length and color instantly.

What are your favorite haircare brands?
Joico, Kérastase, Bed Head, John Freida, Redken …

What’s the biggest mistake women make when doing their hair or buying haircare products?
Over-blow-drying hair because they are rushing out the door; it will look dry and flyaway.

What should a woman never leave home without?
A pocketsize Evian spray.
