Gone were the girlish charasmatic curls when Carrie found herself in two complicated relationships (back-to-back!): Berger the novelist came first, quickly followed by Petrovsky the artist. The blunt shoulder-length bob fared well for her, as it was quite versatile, not to mention incredibly chic.

A new gig at Vogue will put a little pep in anyone's step. Techncally still a beautiful blonde, Carrie's chestnut-color lowlights added a bit of intensity and depth to her laissez-faire locks later in the series and the movie. Hey, a girl's gotta grow-up at some point.

Now here's the Carrie we all fell in love with! When we first met the lovelorn sex columnist, she sported free-flowing frosty blond curls that were just as crazy and carefree as her wardrobe and her dating escapades. (Both of which we thoroughly enjoyed!)

Whenever Carrie wanted to opt for a more regal look, everyone's favorite fashionista styled her lengthy strands into a big bold bun perched atop of her head, sort of like her very own personal crown.
