Countdown to Summer Olympics

So who else is SUPER excited about the Olympics that are starting in let’s see, one day and 22 hours from now? Whatever you might feel about the location of the Games and the politics, I hate to see that kind of thing extend to the athletes that have worked most of their lives for this moment. As a former gymnast I spent countless hours in a gym sweating, working through injuries with the idea that one day I might be there. Clearly that never happened but I still have a soft spot for the Olympics. I knew I had to be a gymnast after watching Mary Lou in my hometown in 1984. My son clearly shares my DNA as he constantly tries to do acrobatics that he has never even seen. I can not wait to see his reaction to the Olympic gymnastic coverage. I wonder if you can decide what your passion is at two?

Whenever I watch gymnastics it is impossible for me not to get up and move myself. I mean literally impossible. It got me to thinking, what if we had an Olympic style workout month. I plan to organize my activities around some of the main events. Like I can go swimming during the bulk of the swim events and then jog during track and field etc. What do you think? I would have to get a schedule of events but it would only be for the duration of the Games. Who’s in?

Its On! Sassy Slim Time

Female swimmer in pool

Um, I’m moving to Miami. Like next week– commence hyperventilation. I’ll soon be in a bikini on a regular basis, and if that’s not scary enough, keep in mind that this will be going on all. year. long. I feel like I’m back in Brazil, except for the fact that then I was in my best shape ever.

My plan? The Sassy Water supplement, to complement the whole Flat Belly plan that I’ve got going on. The situation is critical, but hopefully this will help. According to what I’ve read at The Coveted, this helps to calm angry stomachs. I certainly need that!

The Sassy Recipe (via The Coveted’s Recommendation). . .

Mix together the following ingredients for a flat belly of your own:

* 8.5 cups water
* 12 spearmint leaves
* 1 t. grated fresh ginger
* 1 cucumber (peeled and sliced)
* 1 small lemon (sliced)

All you need to do is let it stand overnight in the fridge for a fresh drink, and hopefully a flatter belly.

Has anyone seen those Bally’s adswith the Pussycat Dolls? Bally’s is now “training” the Pussycat Dolls so they can be all fit and tighten things up a bit…right because they were getting a little piggy before. I guess perhaps not as many men (or women) are wishing their girlfriend was as hot as them anymore. Which was totally a feminist anthem dontchaknow. It’s all about empowerment. Note the sarcasm.

So now this teaming is of course to promote the “Doll’s” new album and tour and bring more people into Bally’s. They would have had more luck with me if they had used maybe, I don’t know, athletes or something. Say maybe athletes thatwill becompeting in that little contest they’re having in Beijing next month. I understand it’s about money and marketing, I get it. I just don’t understand what has shifted. Instead of trying to get lean and toned, the goal now needs to be so skinny I can see your hip bone(plus I can see your hip bone because your dressed like a ho). No offense intended. I’m sure they are very nice women and not actually prostitutes. I mean ho in the vernacular sense.

Maybe I’m putting too much into it and maybe it’s just because I think that songis pure evil andhate that Bally’s thinks that should be their summer anthem. What are your thoughts on it? Should I get my undergarments unwound and get a life? Of course the real question is, if you get a membership because of the ads are you required to wear full makeup and sweats with somethinglike sassy writtenon your ass?

Does Everyone Hate My Gladiator FitFlops?

FitFlops

I don’t have them yet, but I will soon– but I haven’t been reading very good things about them at all. Not in terms of performance, mind you, but about the appearance. While I’ll admit I don’t have any designs on the white ones, I still covet the snake version. I think I agree most with ThisNext’s Fashion Kitty, who admitted:

Even though it horrified one of my fellow co-workers I put myself on the wait list for these fugtastic shoes. They are so ugly yet I want them anyways. I have always been intrigued by FitFlops but the basic design made me turn away.

You saidit, girl! All my friends are horrified, too. Now all I need to do is get my hands on a pair of them to prove everyone wrong.

New Sports Bra Review Coming Your Way
By: Burning The Scale    12 days 19 hours 4 minutes ago
Channel: Health

I’m looking forward to reviewing some fantastic sports bras this summer, and since you know how much I like to talk about them, we’re going to be looking at some very enthusiastic (and rigorous) testing indeed! Touted at the “Ultimate Sports Bras” from Lilyette for Full-Breasted Women, I just have to give them a try. You can get selected colors and styles up to triple D– yay!– and there are three different graduated “levels” of bras that guarantee comfort and security. I have my eye on two styles to try:

#1. Masters Activemotion: Medium support for activities like weight training and biking, and up to triple D with underwire. This bra will be under $40 (MSRP) and is available in multiple color combinations.

#2. Marathon Woman Powermotion: High-impact is where I’m at, and apparently that’s what I’m going to get with this bra. It has some “V” technology that is supposed to balance tension, and has hidden strap adjustment– very interesting indeed.You can get it with or without underwire, but I’m not quite sure why you would want to get it without that extra bit of support. Yay!

As soon as they arrive, I’ll be taking these out on quite the rigorous test run (and walk, and jog, and more). Stay tuned.
